Ttiki's January month letter

The new site's header

Hello everyone.

A little newsletter for January, a lot happened, and at the same time, not much happened at all. Before we start, I would like to warn you about the next two newsletters. I will have to shorten them, which means most sections will be missing. Also, this year will be a big one for me on a personal and professional level; I won't be able to find some time for some sections like the story of the month, mod of the month, the game of the month, etc. For now, this newsletter will focus on my projects, how they're doing, what's new.

Projects

ttiki.github.io (ttiki-hub.me)

A new address is available for my website ttiki.github.io. As you may have seen in the address of this blog, the URL has changed to blog.ttiki-hub.me. Thanks to the GitHub Student program, I got myself a free .me domain with cheapname. I will try to regroup nearly everything under this domain, this blog becoming blog.ttiki-hub.me, the main website to ttiki-hub.me, and if I make an API, I may use api.ttiki-hub.me to access it, who knows.
So, what's new with my website? It didn't change for months now, and the library (La bibliothèque) isn't even working anymore.
Don't worry because a new version is coming! I've been working on it for some months now, little by little. I will publish my project with download links, post some coding experiments, create a portfolio and, have fun experimenting.
The description is in the name, Ttiki's HUB, a personal space to regroup my virtual life in one place. No need to share multiple links now; this website will be the only link I will have to share

New projects?

Yes, but I don't want to talk about it as it is just a concept.
However, I am planning on finally finishing .Hitman² and publishing it (after months of inactivity).
I've also worked quite a lot on my game. If you're interested, you can read Kickstarter's newsletter.

Dev vlog?

You may know I've got three YouTube channels, the main one, for gaming only in french, the second one which turns around Source Engine and my projects (maps, mods, etc.) with tutorials, one time (soon™).
The latest of the group, Ttiki's Software, is where I upload "trailers" to promote my software. I may also upload tutorials from time to time.
I would publish this dev vlog project to this last YouTube channel. I always wanted to make movies, and, one day, I may want to have some souvenirs from these times, when I first started making games and softwares available to the public. I don't know if my projects will work and if I'll be able to live from them. I don't know if my dream will take or not. In any case, I will want memories from that time. That's why I'm planning on making a little dev vlog from time to time.
You can always subscribe to it if you are interested. Anyway, I will make a post here if I will indeed make this one day.

Serie of the month

I've got one documentary I would like to recommend to you if you speak (or at least can read) French. Don't ever show this to anyone (Ne montre ça à personne) is a documentary about my favorite rap singer in France Orelsan. This documentary retraces his whole career until now, from his start in his apartment with his friends, being young, to now, still with the same friends, making music, and living his dream.

GitHub Student promotion

I want to make a little "promotion" for GitHub. Read this section if you're a student because it could be interesting for you.
To give you a little context, I wanted to upgrade my GitHub account to pro a few days ago (well, yesterday at the time of writing (10/02/2022)). However, due to a mistake I made, I paid 48$ for a yearly subscription. Yet, 48$ is quite a large amount for a month. In a panic, I directly canceled this subscription to get a refund (which I got). Thankfully the person I talked with, a GitHub employee, told me about their Student promotion which grants GitHub pro for free plus a bunch of great promos for services and softwares (plus some courses online and great other stuff.) To get access to this, you will need a valid student email address, which you generally get from your university or school.
One of many promotions was a free .me domain name for one year with cheapname. But there are many more promotions I have yet to take a look at.
So, if you are a student and work in computer science/engineering (if you write code), this promotion can be interesting.

Note: to be sure, this is not a paid promotion. I'm not paid in any way by GitHub to promote this. I know how hard it is to live for students. I'm just sharing here, in the hope it will benefit some of you :)

That's the end of this month. Not much to tell you, but I am working hard every day.

Thanks for reading through this article. Feel free to post a comment and share your thoughts.

Have a nice and wonderful day.
Ttiki,
adios.
